Rep. Nancy Mace blasts Twitter for censoring dissident COVID experts from Harvard and Stanford
By now, we all know that Twitter and other social media platforms actively censored Americans at the behest of the FBI and other government agencies. And while that censorship was extensive and wide-reaching, it was perhaps the worst on the matter of COVID-19. At an Oversight Committee hearing this week, Representative Nancy Mace grilled former Twitter employees over their silencing of Harvard and Stanford doctors who attempted to provide the American people with information on the disease and the vaccines that ran counter to the official narrative the US government was trying to push. https://twitter.com/GOPoversight/status/1623363180415094825?s=20&t=0Y68pbt_XRhYtmUt_L3AcQ For five minutes, Mace directed a blistering line of questioning at the platform’s representatives in which she explained her own medical conditions she now lives with potentially as a result of COVID and the vaccine. “Twitter worked overtime to suppress accurate COVID information,” Mace said. She went on to point to a doctor’s work on natural immunity that was suppressed by Twitter and deemed disinformation. “I find it extremely alarming Twitter’s unfettered censorship spread into medical fields and affected millions of Americans by suppressing expert opinions from doctors and censoring those who disagreed with the CDC,” she continued. “I have great regrets about getting this shot because of the health issues I now have that I don’t think are ever going to go away. And I know I’m not the only American who has those kinds of concerns,” Mace added. Twitter also censored a Harvard epidemiologist, Martin Kulldorff, who wrote that those who had COVID-19 did not need to be vaccinated, nor did children, and labeled his work as disinformation too. Nancy Mace mentioned this event and then directed her attention to a witness, Vijaya Gadde, who served as general counsel and the head of legal, policy, and trust at Twitter. “May I ask of you, where did you go to medical school?” Mace poised. “I did not go to medical school,” Ms. Gadde replied. “That’s what I thought,” Mace quipped back. She continued, “Why do you think you or anyone else at Twitter had the medical expertise to censor a doctor’s expert opinion? “This is about expert advice medical doctors were trying to give Americans because social media companies like Twitter were silencing their voices,” said Mace. “Did the US government ever contact you or anyone at Twitter to censor or moderate certain tweets?” she demanded. Gadde replied, “We received legal demands to remove content from the platform from the US government and governments around the world.” “Thank God for Matt Taibbi. Thank God for Elon Musk for allowing, showing us and the world, that Twitter was basically a subsidiary of the FBI censoring real medical voices with real expertise that put real American lives in danger because they didn’t have that information,” Nancy Mace responded. Mace is absolutely correct. The US government has waged a war on the American people since COVID first reached our shores. Whether or not the government played a role in the development of COVID in the first place (via illegal funding of gain-of-function research in the Wuhan lab) remains to be seen. They have actively worked to suppress information on the funding and research the US government was carrying out during that time, just as they have worked to suppress any information on best practices for dealing with COVID since it broke out. From false information on the effectiveness of cloth masks, to the idiotic notion that locking down schools and businesses would prevent a viral disease from spreading, to a demand for a cult-like devotion to COVID vaccines, actors in our government have worked to keep millions of people in the dark and because of that people are dead that wouldn’t have been otherwise. Grilling current and former Twitter employees who acted at the behest of these agents and who colluded in carrying out this plot against the American people is a great start. But Congress needs to go further and expose the faces and names in these government agencies who were pulling the strings.
