Sunday News Shows Spent Zero Minutes Covering Attempted Murder of Brett Kavanaugh
Last week, I asked what I thought was a valid question about the media regarding the recent attempt on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s life:

The most common “answer” was:

“Attempted murder,” which is what the suspect was charged with, is making premeditated plans to kill someone, among other definitions. That this person told on himself—he called the cops and said he wanted to kill Kavanaugh and himself—doesn’t make it any less premeditated and law enforcement charged him appropriately.
More importantly, if this exact same scenario had happened but the suspect wasn’t a left-leaning guy upset about potentially overturning Roe v. Wade, but a MAGA guy who wanted to kill left-leaning, Democrat-appointed Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan…
Does anyone doubt there would have been wall to wall constant coverage? MSNBC and CNN analysis on how Trump voters are domestic terrorists?
But the threat against Kavanaugh was earlier in the week. Surely by the time we arrived at the Sunday news programs, where deeper news and analysis can often be found, someone would think to address this issue.
Nope. Not a peep. According to the Media Research Center’s Kevin Tober, the top Sunday shows on CNN, NBC, ABC, and CBS spent zero minutes covering the crime.
But plenty about right-wing domestic terrorists!

Not surprisingly, only Fox News covered it.
If the center-left establishment media insists on covering the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol—an awful and embarrassing day for the United States—like it was 9/11, but ignore the attempted murder of a Republican appointed Supreme Court Justice, not only do they not have any journalistic integrity but who, exactly, do they expect to believe them anymore?
Let’s talk for a moment about America’s real ‘misinformation’ problem.
If the mainstream Democratic Party, its presidential nominee and the many mainstream news outlets that cater to it, all signal that the 2016 election was stolen from Hillary Clinton, how do these people—elites—expect to have credibility?
If Republican voters believed the same thing about Donald Trump losing in 2020–that others were deliberately dismissing their votes as Trump said—why wouldn’t you form a mob and storm the Capitol?
The problem is both sides have no problem with misinformation if it serves their own purposes.
Convincing certain folks that the 2020 election wasn’t stolen—and it wasn’t—could have been key in preventing something like January 6.
But who was equipped to do that? Trump could have, but he believed the same delusion. Who besides him was going to tell the mob that had credibility enough to be effective?
There was no respected leader or authority available. The media already threw their ability to do this away a long time ago. Few believe them anymore and with good reason.
So who, now, is going to tell current and potential left-wing domestic terrorists NOT to attempt to murder judges, politicians and various leaders who they disagree with?
Apparently no one. The attempted murder of Justice Kavanaugh and the wider danger that incident could represent is not even newsworthy.
That silence is as dangerous as any “misinformation” imaginable.
