Biden (falsely) claims that he personally created 10 million jobs
Another day, another bogus claim about the economy from the Biden administration.
The White House’s latest bit of propaganda was a tweet claiming that Joe Biden has himself personally created 10 million jobs:

I regret to inform you that this is… not how reality works.
The president did not “create” 10 million jobs. This may be the number of jobs that were created during his time in office. (You can never trust this White House’s economic data without double-checking it, to be honest, they so routinely play fast-and-loose with the facts). But these jobs were created by everyday Americans, small business owners, corporate leaders, etc.—not the president.
This might sound semantic, but it’s not.
We cannot cede ground to this “you didn’t build that” rhetoric that implicitly (and falsely) suggests to the public that their productive efforts are really the product of government support. In many more cases, jobs are created in spite of the many ways the government gets in the way.
This is what makes Biden’s claim so laughable. In the first year of his presidency and with his major economic “stimulus” legislation passed, we actually saw fewer jobs created than were projected if he did nothing at all. Yes, seriously.
As I previously reported for BASEDPolitics:
“The White House projected that with their massive spending legislation, the economy would add 10.25 million jobs in 2021. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office projected that without the plan, the economy would create 6.25 million jobs—a number Biden called “dismal.”
The reality?
Per AEI, the economy only created 6.1 million jobs in 2021… even less than was projected without the stimulus spending. So, not only did the 4 million jobs promised by President Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and his many progressive allies fail to materialize. The Democrats spent $1.9 trillion in taxpayer money—roughly $13,250 per federal taxpayer—and ended up with even fewer jobs overall than was expected if we spent nothing.”
So, President Biden’s claim that he personally created 10 million jobs isn’t just insulting to the hardworking Americans and businesses who actually created those jobs. It flies in the face of the glaring reality that these jobs were created despite, not because of, Biden’s signature policies.
