Government finally releases COVID documents. What they omitted is even more sus
We’ve been fighting both the Chinese and US governments for information on COVID-19’s origins for over three years now—a mission of paramount importance as evidence suggests that the US did fund its creation via corrupt animal torture practices that are still ongoing in numerous other labs. Which of course would mean we’re all in danger of the next thing being created and leaking.
To be clear, the animal torture I’m referring to here is best known as gain-of-function research, which has become a hotly contested matter during COVID-19. The practice was banned under Obama from 2014-2017, but the NIH was still using tax dollars to covertly fund it anyways. It involves practices like injecting animals like bats or mice to develop human-like lungs with “supercharged strains of coronaviruses and other pathogens to make them more contagious and deadly to humans.”
Given the stakes, you would think only madmen would not be rushing for answers and policy curtails that would prevent such a disaster from ever taking place again. But, alas, our government is run by mostly madmen and many are still working in lockstep to block these details from the public.
The Director of National Intelligence finally released some of the documents pertaining to this matter this week, albeit after several states introduced resolutions demanding investigations, Congress provided a deadline demanding the release, and Senator Paul swore to block all nominations until the intelligence was handed over.
But despite releasing some of the information at its disposal, it appears the government is still very much working to conceal its own role in this mess.

The report noted, “This report does not address the merits of the two most likely pandemic origins hypotheses, nor does it explore other biological facilities in Wuhan other than the WIV.”
It goes on to state that though the Wuhan (WIV) lab is independent of the China's People’s Liberation Army (PLA), the two entities worked together on "public health-related research and collaborated on biosafety and biosecurity projects," and that “between 2017 and 2019, the WIV funded and some of its personnel conducted research projects to enhance China’s knowledge of pathogens and early disease warning capabilities for defensive and biosecurity needs of the military."
But as Senator Paul noted, what’s conspicuously missing from the report is the US government’s funding of the Wuhan lab and these experiments. They don’t have to admit it, thanks to FOIAs filed by the White Coat Waste Project (where I am a Fellow), we’ve had proof of that since the spring of 2021.

But while we’ve known about the funding in the lab, the proof of the PLA’s involvement in that lab is particularly interesting. China is supposedly one of our greatest foes, and yet we’re sending taxpayer dollars to support research in their labs that work hand in hand with their military? And to torture animals no less? Make it make sense.

Americans have a right to know how their tax dollars are being used—always, period, always. That they were being used to torture animals, support the Chinese military, and that those practices may have led to a global pandemic, they certainly deserve to know if that happened.
This report by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence is unacceptable and frankly an insult to the intelligence of all hard working Americans. Congress must not let up in pressing for the truth.
