Are we alone in the universe? Some recent reporting suggests that we are not.
Last week, self-proclaimed ufologist Jaime Maussan presented two caskets to the Mexican Congress, which he claimed under oath held alien remains. He alleged that the remains, initially found in Peru in 2017, are nearly 1,000 years old.
Forensic scientist and military doctor José de Jesús Zalce Benítez shared images of the creatures, attempting to prove their anatomy is unlike anything we have here on Earth.
In addition to the presentation on aliens, Lt. Ryan Graves, a navy pilot, recently presented evidence to Congress of unidentified flying objects, which he believed might threaten national security. Similarly, a former Air Force intelligence officer turned whistleblower named David Grusch recently told Congress that he believes the federal government has recovered alien aircraft from UFO crashes and is covering it up.
The revelations in Mexico unsurprisingly took the internet by storm— just not in the way the researchers expected. Many quickly pointed out that the alien remains looked conveniently like a stereotypical movie trope of an alien with a long head, big eyes, and tiny body.
In addition, internet sleuths quickly revealed that this is not the first time Maussan has declared to discover alien findings. In 2017, he was part of a research team that produced “evidence” of aliens, which scientists dismissed as manipulated mummies.
As expected, many conspiracy theories are spreading around the internet, with people sharing their best guess as to why this information is only being revealed to the public now instead of back when they were discovered in 2017.
Some have suggested Maussan’s presentation of the alien bodies was to discredit the national security warning from Graves.
Others believe the government is trying to distract us from its own corruption.
It is good to see that people are skeptical and asking questions instead of believing what they are being told outright— especially with a claim this absurd. However, it’s important to remember that these conspiracies have as much credible evidence behind them as the aliens— very little.
